Adult Therapy

At Willow Tree Psychology, we provide evidence-based individual therapy for adults. Our primary treatment approach is Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which focuses on understanding and changing the relationship between one’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

In addition to CBT, other treatment approaches that may be utilized include Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT); a therapy that combines mindfulness, acceptance, and emotion regulation strategies, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); a therapy that encourages acceptance of thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them, etc.

Our clinic provides specialized treatment for a wide range of concerns, including:

What can I expect?

The first session is all about getting to know each other. We work on establishing a trusting therapeutic relationship that feels warm and comfortable. We will discuss a framework for therapy and discuss confidentiality. You will then be asked to describe your concerns and share background information when relevant.

Once your therapy goals have been established, we will determine the most effective course of action as well as a rough estimate of how many sessions will be required. Over the course of therapy, you will be provided with frequent updates as to your progress in reaching your therapy goals.
