Dr. Nina Laugesen, C.Psych., Registered Psychologist

Dr. Nina Laugesen is a  Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She has worked for over 20 years providing assessment and treatment for people across the lifespan. From children ages 8 and up, to adolescents and adults, she supports you with the knowledge and skills to cope with your concerns and increase your sense of satisfaction in your everyday life.

Dr. Laugesen creates a safe space that is based on respect and honesty. Her approach is collaborative, warm, and non-judgemental. Understanding that each age and stage of life requires a unique approach, she uses a variety of evidence-based treatments including;

Dr. Laugesen is passionate about working with individuals with anxiety, mood, and emotion dysregulation. Commonly addressed concerns include:

  • Anxiety (e.g., generalized anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic, selective mutism, phobias).

  • Depression.

  • Stress Management.

  • PTSD and Trauma.

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), tic-related disorders.

  • Interpersonal difficulties, emotion dysregulation, self-harm behaviours, school and learning problems, as well as other problems of daily living.

Professional Bio:

  • Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec.

  • Certified to practice CBT by the Canadian Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CACBT).

  • Intensively Trained to practice Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) with children, adolescents, and adults through Behavioral Tech.

  • Member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, the Ontario Psychological Association, the Canadian Psychological Association, and the Canadian Association of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CACBT).

  • Taught at the university level in the field of abnormal psychology at Concordia University and as a guest lecturer at McMaster University.

  • Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and psychodiagnostic assessments, the latter as part of several large clinical trials.

Dr. Laugesen also provides training and supervision to graduate students and psychologists in supervised practice. She is committed to ongoing professional training and is a member of several peer clinical teams.
